The first war was a war between the Aesir gods and the Vanir gods. It was the war to bring the concept of war into the world, led by Odin in his jealousy over the Vanir's Seidr magic. Details of the war are shown sporadically throughout Twilight of the Gods, depicted briefly in "Heretic Spear."

Norse origins[]
The Æsir and Vanir similarly went to war long ago in Norse mythology, as well. The reasoning and outcome were also similar, though notable differences exist between the original myths and Twilight of the Gods.
