The Gods were an ancient, powerful race. They were in charge of maintaining the balance of nature. There were two primary groups of gods, those being the Aesir and the Vanir. They were a major race of Twilight of the Gods and appeared in all episodes except "Heretic Spear," which featured Thought and Memory acting on Odin's behalf.

Physiology[]

The gods lived beyond the realms of mortals in societies not unlike those of the mortals. They had war and strife just as humans did and when conflicts between gods arose, other races would often get caught up in the issues, which could easily lead to mass deaths due to the power disparity between gods and the other races. One such instance was Thor Odinson's search for Loki Laufeyson, which wiped out the Open Hand clan of jötun.[1]
