Biography[]

Birth of Hel

Thor arrives at the birth of Hel.

Hel was born of the Aesir god Loki and the jötun, Angboda. She was born alive and dead at the same time. When she was born, Thor, along with several troops from Asgard, arrived at the place where Loki and Angboda were, where they reprimanded him for having relations with a giant. Thor banished Hel to the underworld where she would rule over the dishonorable dead and evil souls.[1]

Hel (location)

Sigrid is brought to Hel.

When Thor killed the giants of the Open Hand, Sigrid, the last surviving member of the clan, was the perfect candidate to join Loki and Hel's goal of taking down the Lord of Storms. Hel brought Sigrid down into her domain to discuss revenge and Loki promised to support Sigrid's revenge.[2][3]
