Horses were herbivorous quadrupeds often tamed by other races and used as mounts for travel or battle. They're very prevalent throughout Twilight of the Gods and appear in multiple colors and varieties.

Sigrid and Leif ride horses to Jötunheim.
Horses were used by Clan Völsung to defend against foreign invaders in times of war and to traverse long expanses to reach other lands. Sigrid and Leif used them to reach Jötunheim so Leif could meet Sigrid's family.[1]
Sigrid recruits her five fingers.
To travel to Nidavellir and recruit warriors to avenge the slaughter of her clan, Sigrid set out on horseback with Leif, Hervor, and Egill. They picked up Ulfr and the Seid-Kona along the way, leaving the horses behind in favor of a boat when they reached the metal river of Nidavellir.[2]
