Hrafnkel's family was a farming family that lived in the Vanaheim borderlands. They worshiped Odin and sought to earn his favor by delivering Sigrid to his Bolverkrs. The family was comprised of Hrafnkel, voiced by Corey Stoll; his wife Inge, voiced by Lauren Cohan; and their son Frode. They were important characters in the third episode of Twilight of the Gods, "You Will Gladden His Ravens."
History[]
The Bolverkrs attacked Hrafnkel's village, but his family was spared and told to signal them of Sigrid's arrival. They found Thyra among the wreckage and interpreted this discovery to mean that Odin was testing them. They held her captive with the intention of sacrificing her to the All-Father to prove their faith. The family was initially hospitable to Sigrid's group, providing them with food and drink, but it was a ploy to buy time for the Bolverkrs' arrival. Frode was the first to find them at the family's door and pulled a knife on them, but he was quickly disarmed by Leif. Hrafnkel came to see what the commotion was about and welcomed the travelers into their home.[1]
