Jötunheim was the nation of giants from which Sigrid hailed. It was ruled by Glaumar. Jötunheim appeared in three episodes of Twilight of the Gods: "The Bride-Price," "Heretic Spear," and "Now Hear Of...."
Events[]

Sigrid and Leif's wedding: Expressing her wish to introduce Leif to her parents and marry in her homeland, Sigrid returned home to Jötunheim. Her family accepted Leif as one of their own and prepared a feast before setting up a wedding ceremony. Some believed that their wedding would anger the gods, and indeed, Thor arrived before they could finish their vows and slaughtered the residents.[1]

Locales[]

Entry bridge: The entry bridge connecting Jötunheim to the rest of the world would rise to the sound of a great horn, allowing travelers to enter or exit the land of the giants. Sigrid and Leif used the bridge to enter the kingdom.

Kingdom gates: The kingdom of the Open Hand, led by King Glaumar, was contained within walls. When returning home, Sigrid met her father at the gates, where he was disappointed to see that she'd brought a human man with her.

Throne room: The throne room was where King Glaumar would entertain guests, especially when they were making requests of him. When Sigrid asked for her leave to visit her mother's home village and when Leif asked for Glaumar's blessing to wed Sigrid, they each met with Glaumar here.

Outer fields: The fields outside the village were the perfect place to host a beautiful, outdoor wedding. This was where Thor Odinson attacked the giants and where Sigrid and Leif held their funeral.
